The Temptations est un groupe formé en 1960 à Détroit, US.
Le groupe est tout d'abord fondé sous le nom The Elgins, avec Otis Williams, Elbridge "Al" Bryant, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks et Paul Williams. En 1964, ils se renomment The Temptations.
Leur premier album 'Meet the Temptations' est sorti en 1964.
