Notes by Mark - During our early touring, back in the days when we had 'an agent' (gasp ! ! ) we found ourselves, courtesy of 'Wasted Talent' down to support Killing Joke in Leicester. We arrived on time ready to sound check. KJ arrived four and a half hours late and we couldn't check until they had, very boring but no problem. That is until we started our sound check. I plugged my bass in, played a few notes to make sure everything was working and the sound guy shouted "ok, good, now guitar. " I started laughing and looked at Dave and he did the same thing, struck a single chord to make sure the leads were working and we got another "great, thanks" from the sound engineer. We started shouting at them that we wanted a proper sound-check, not a line check and they told us that there just wasn't time due to the lateness of Killing Joke's arrival. Things escalated and, noticing the band at the side of the stage, drawn by the commotion, Dave and I unstrapped our guitars and ran at them. Fortunately for them their crew managed to stop us before we got to them. We told them all to fuck off and blew out the gig. Later a spokesman for the band came over and apologised and hoped we'd play the rest of the gigs with them but we told them were to go. Paper Tigers came from that basically.

Notes de Mark - Pendant notre première tournée, lorsque nous avions 'un agent' (aïe ! ) nous nous sommes retrouvés, grâce à 'Wasted Talent' à faire la première partie de Killing Joke à Leicester. Nous étions arrivés à l'heure prêts à jouer. KJ sont arrivés quatre heures et demie en retard, et nous ne pouvions pas jouer tant qu'ils n'était pas arrivés, c'était très ennuyeux mais ça allait. Jusqu'à ce que nous commencions à jouer. J'ai branché ma basse, j'ai joué quelques notes pour être sûr que tout marchait et le mec qui s'occupait du son cria "ok, bien, maintenant la guitare". J'ai commencé à rire et j'ai regardé Dave et il fit la même chose, gratta une simple corde pour être sûr que les fils marchaient et nous avons eu un autre "génial, merci" de l'ingénieur du son. Nous leur avons lancé que nous voulions un vrai concert et pas juste jouer trois notes et ils nous ont dit qu'il n'y avait pas assez de temps dû au retard de l'arrivée des Killing Joke. Les choses sont devenues plus sérieuses et, remarquant le groupe à côté de la scène, entrainés par l'agitation, Dave et moi avons laissé nos guitares et avons couru vers eux. Heureusement pour eux leur équipe a réussi à nous arrêter avons que nous n'arrivions jusqu'à eux. Nous leur avons dit d'aller se faire foutre et ceci n'eut pas de conséquences sur le concert. Plus tard un porte-parole du groupe est venu s'excuser et espérait qu'on joue le reste des concerts avec eux mais nous leur avons dit d'aller se faire voir. Paper Tigers vient de la fondamentalement.
