The show was “a slight anticlimax to be honest…there was a lot of anticipation but it didn’t sound very good, it was windy and the vibe wasn’t there”

Jarvis Cocker a expliqué qu'il n'était pas allé à Spike Island, mais qu'il avait écrit les paroles de la nouvelle chanson après avoir discuté avec plusieurs personnes présentes, dont le musicien Jason Buckle, du groupe All Seeing I, qui a co-écrit le single
"All he could remember was a DJ who between every song said, 'Spike Island come alive, Spike Island come alive'," he said.
"Il se souvenait seulement d'un DJ qui, entre chaque chanson, disait : "Spike Island, prends vie, Spike Island, prends vie" a-t-il expliqué.
"That phrase stuck with me."
