Vic Fuentes: "I wrote this song for all of our fans who feel like they don’t have a home or a place that they fit in. It was inspired by the letters, messages, and conversations that we’ve had with them over the last couple of years. In the choruses I say ‘this is a wasteland, my only retreat.’ I am referring to the shows that we play as a temporary home for those who need it. It may not be much, but at least it’s a place where we can forget about our problems for a little while.”
"J'ai écrit cette chanson pour tous nos fans qui se sentent comme s'ils n'avaient pas de maison ou un endroit où ils sont bien. Elle a été inspirée par les lettres et les conversations qu'on a eu avec eux ces dernières années. Dans le refrain je dis ‘this is a wasteland, my only retreat.’ (c'est une terre abandonnée mon seul refuge) je me réfère aux spectacles que nous donnons comme à une maison temporaire pour ceux qui en ont besoin, ça peut ne pas être grand chose, mais en fin de compte c'est un endroit où nous pouvons oublier nos problèmes un petit moment"
